Acupuncture School in Utah - UT
Utah takes alternative and complementary medicine seriously, setting the bar high for practitioners. The acupuncture certification program is closely aligned with the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. By aligning the curriculum with the standards of this respected national organization, acupuncture schools in Utah help future clinicians develop safe and competent therapeutic practices. Prospective acupuncturists may choose from among elite schools that have either achieved NCCAOM accreditation or are candidates for future accreditation.
Future acupuncturists must take an approved course of study and pass tests required by the NCCAOM, as well as a separate exam in Utah laws and rules. There are some additional requirements for certification by Utah’s Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL). The healing arts depend on trust between practitioner and patient, and an acupuncturist is in a position of considerable responsibility. Thus the State of Utah reserves the right to ask a candidate to appear before the Board.
For those who successfully complete the program, the rewards can be considerable. These practitioners earn certificates from the Utah DOPL and the opportunity to participate in the growing field of complementary medicine. They also earn the privilege of adding the title of L.ac. to their names.
