The educational requirements to become a Physician Assistant in Alaska include the successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Degree (BSHS) offered by Physician Schools in Alaska. Prior to entering a BSHS program, previous educational experience is needed. After graduates of a BSHS program achieve their degree, they must take the National Certification Exam. This exam is needed in order for eligibility for a Physician Assistant license. A state license is obtained from the National Commissions on Certification of Physician Assistant in Alaska. Once acquiring a license, a certified Physician Assistant will need to renew their license periodically.
