Major Employers of Registered Nurses in Alaska and growth forecast
With such an increasing demand for registered nurses, not all RN employment will grow so rapidly in every industry. The following is a breakdown of growth for RNs within the highest employment industries:
Physician’s offices and home health services are expected to grow 39%.
Outpatient care centers are expected to grow at 34%. Employment services can expect to grow 27%.
Surgical and general medical hospitals are expected to grow at 22%.
Nursing care centers are looking at growing 20%.
Currently hospitals employ about 60% of RNs, doctor’s offices employ 10% and nursing care centers are around 5%.
There are approximately 80% of registered nurses that work full-time and may also work for schools and government agencies.
