Arizona Massage Therapy Schools - AZ

There are Qualifications for applying to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB). These include having appropriate educational Instruction provided online or through a massage school in Arizona. First of all, 500 hours of instruction are required. Of the 500 hours, 20 must be in massage and bodywork assessment, theory and knowledge. Of the remaining hours, 125 must be in anatomy & physiology and kinesiology, 40 hours in pathology, 10 hours in business and ethics, and 125 hours should be on topics related to the massage therapy field. After the submission of the required documentation, candidates will receive an ATT (Authorization to test) letter, an incomplete application letter or a denial letter.
Graduates of massage therapy schools in Arizona are required to re-certify every 4 years. Re-certification includes submitting proof of 48 hours of CE (from an approved provider), of which six hours must be on the topic of ethics. With the ethics continuing education there must also be a 2 hour component about Standard V of NCMTMB Practice Standards. The applicant must also provide proof of 200 work hours.
