Arkansas Dental Assistants Schools
Certified dental assistants (CDAs), or graduates from a dental-assisted program that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association can apply to be a Registered Dental Assistant in Arkansas.
How CDAs or Dental Assisting School Graduates Can Register
- Obtain the Registration for Dental Assistants form from the State Board of Dental Examiners:
- Fill out Section C of the form and attach a copy of your diploma or your CDA certificate and submit the form to the office of the State Board.

How to Obtain a Permit for Nitrous Oxide Administration and Sedation Monitoring
- Obtain the educational packet for Dental Assistant Registration from the State Board of Dental Examiners:
- Complete an approved nitrous oxide administration and monitoring course (a current list of approved course instructors can be found at http://www.asbde.org/applications/2009/nitrous_courses_updated_9-22-09.pdf).
- Fill out Sections A and C of the Registration for Dental Assistants form.
- Submit the form, with a copy of your nitrous oxide certificate to the office of the State Board.
