According to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report, this occupation has seen an average growth of 3.7% in recent years.  Growth for radiology techs is expected to increase by 15% from 2006-2016; faster than any other healthcare position due to a high demand for diagnostic testing.   According to the BLS there are presently 15,150 radiology technicians in the state California. This BLS publication also states that in 2006 there were about 196,000 radiology technician positions nationwide. 60% of these jobs were held in hospitals.   Becoming a radiology technician is a rewarding career with the possibility of growth and generous pay.
