Dental assistants are more marketable if they complete a certificate program. These programs generally last from nine to twelve months and are offered at community colleges. There are several dental assistant schools in Colorado. Be sure to select a school with a good track record and one that is approved by the American Dental Association (ADA).

Colorado Dental Assistant Continuing Education Requirements

Dental assistants are not required by the state of Colorado to complete any continuing education requirements. If you perform expanded functions or operate x-ray equipment, there may be additional requirements to be met. Many dental assistants will choose to further their education by attending dental hygiene school, using their experience as a dental assistant to meet the required prerequisites.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora and Lakewood, Colorado may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including Memorial Hospital Central, Penrose Hospital, and Denver Health Medical Center.
