Colorado Massage Therapy Schools - CO

Education Requirements of Colorado Massage Therapy Schools:

• Individuals must have successfully completed a massage therapy program online or through one of the Colorado massage therapy schools.  This will consist of a minimum of 500 total hours of course work and clinical experience from approved Colorado massage therapy schools or online schools, and at least 300 hours of massage training
• In order for the school to be approved by the Board of Directors, the school must hold a certificate from the Division of Private and Occupational Schools; be certified by the Colorado Community College System; and be a nationally accredited massage therapy school or training program.
• Applicant must hold a valid certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)

Continuing Education for Massage Therpay in Colorado:

Colorado does not have any continuing education requirements set for massage therapists. However, if an individual decides to continue their education of massage therapy, courses must be obtained from the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or from Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) in order to count as valid continuing education credits.
