There are several important steps to take to become a practicing nurse informaticist in Colorado. First you must gain a bachelor’s degree in nursing and gain a registered nursing license in the state of Colorado. The specific study and coursework of a Colorado nursing informatics master’s degree will include in-depth study in both the technological and human sides of the profession. In Colorado you are required to complete an internship in nursing informatics that can range anywhere from 160 to 250 hours in required length.
