Public health is such a large profession that it is difficult to name each and every position that would fit under this title. However, one thing that can be said about people working under the guise of public health is that they are highly devoted to protecting and informing the community about infectious diseases and about implementing healthy habits. This is the type of profession for a person who enjoys working with the community and serving a greater purpose.

Here are some of the careers you might expect to find in public health:

• Education about living a healthy lifestyle
• Attending to the public in cases of emergency

Public Health Education and Degrees

There are two degree options for working in public health in Colorado: a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree. For people who are just entering this field, the minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree, which typically takes anywhere from 3 to 4 years to complete.

A master’s degree will help you to advance throughout this career field. While a bachelor’s degree works just fine for immediate entry, you will not find many advancement opportunities without a master’s degree earned online or through Colorado public health schools. Areas such as administrative management and some areas of epidemiology and biostatistics will require the education learned from a master’s degree.

Whichever degree you option you decide is the best for you, you always want to make sure that the school you attend has a program that is recognized by the CEPH. Also, there are many online schooling options now available for the field of public health. Going to school online has many benefits, including flexibility, convenience, and reduced cost plans.
