Salary for a Registered Nurse in Colorado - CO

Colorado Registered Nurses Salaries

While the average Colorado RN salary is somewhat below the national average, there is great disparity in salaries among the different regions of the state affecting that number.  Registered nurses in southwestern and south central Colorado make well over the national average while those in the rest of the state match or fall well below the national average.  Colorado is experiencing a much greater rate of job growth for registered nurses than the national average as well; the Colorado Board of Labor and Employment projects the number of registered nurse positions available to grow by 27% between 2008 and 2018 as compared to only 22% expected for the nation as a whole.  Lower tax rates and special breaks for senior citizens attract retirees while the climate and landscape attract extreme sports enthusiasts.  Both are groups requiring more health care and thus create a climate for rapid job growth for registered nurses in Colorado.
