Connecticut Certified Nurse Assistant Training Programs
Connecticut is an excellent place to begin a career in the health care field. With seven accredited online and on-site programs, students in Connecticut can work toward a career in a rewarding and ever-changing field.
Like any other state, Connecticut sets a strict set of rules and guidelines for anyone who wishes to become a CNA. In order to gain entry into a nursing program, students should already have a high school degree, have current SAT or ACT scores on-hand, and hold a steady record of academic achievement.
An accredited nursing program in Connecticut should consist of no less than 100 course hours, and should take about two to three years to complete. When students follow an online or on-site nursing program, they gain a well-rounded education that blends liberal arts classes with the core nursing curriculum.
Connecticut’s CNA training programs offered online or through community colleges combine pharmacology, family and individual care, microbiology, psychology, anatomy, and nursing classes to give students a real sense of the field. These programs also include on-site clinical training, which requires students practice under the direct supervision of a licensed medical professional in a field of their choice.
Through either online or campus based programs, aspiring C.N.A.s in Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven and Stamford, Connecticut may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Bridgeport Hospital, New Haven Hospital, St. Vincent's Medical Center and Danbury Hospital.
