Registered Dental Hygienists in Delaware must complete a board approved dental hygiene program and become certified in CPR. They must have graduated from high school or have a GED prior to applying. Upon completion of the board-approved program, potential dental hygienist must take and pass the Delaware Practical Examination in Dental Hygiene. This exam is offered twice a year and is limited to only 36 candidates on each date it’s offered. Once the exam is passed with at least a 75% competency level, an application for a license to practice as a dental hygienist can be submitted to the State of Delaware Board of Dental Examiners. Once the board approves your application, you must also successfully pass the Delaware Jurisprudence Written Examination.Delaware Dental Organizations
