Education is the most important factor when considering a career as a Physician Assistant in Delaware.  A Physician Assistant degree from an accredited institution is required for both licensure and certification. Unfortunately, there are no accredited Physician Assistant programs in offered by Physician Assistant Schools in Delaware, but there are 148 accredited programs nationally.  In the majority of these programs offered by online and campus schools a Masters degree is earned.  These programs are postgraduate programs in which a bachelor’s degree is required for acceptance. The type of bachelor’s can affect admission into these programs.  A bachelor of science in biology, pre-med, or other medical field will be more effective in admission into a masters program than say a bachelor of arts in psychology.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Physician Assistants in Wilmington, Dover and Newark, Delaware may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Christiana Hospital, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, and Kent General Hospital.
