Oregon Dental Hygienist Continuing Education Requirements

Every two years (before you renew your license) you must undergo at least 24 hours of continuing education (CE) courses related to your profession. These hours may include classes, lectures and scientific sessions at conventions, conducting research, offering pro bono dental care or taking correspondence courses. At least three hours must relate to handling medical emergencies in a dental office. If you hold a Class 1 (nitrous oxide) permit, you are required to take four hours of CE in sedation, physical evaluation, monitoring equipment or other related topics every two years.
