Louisiana Dental Hygienist Continuing Education Requirements

Licensed dental hygienists are required to complete and document 24 hours of continuing education to renew their licenses. Continuing education programs are offered at several community and four-year colleges in Louisiana, as well as through the Louisiana Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Louisiana Dental Assistants Association. Louisiana Dental Hygienist License Renewal

Licenses for hygienists are granted for a 2-year period in Louisiana, and expire on December 31st of the second year. Renewal applications can be found on the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry website. License renewal costs $200 and payment and renewal documentation is required before the December 31st expiration date.
