License Renewal for Dental Hygienists
Dental hygienists receive licenses for 2-year periods in Missouri. Renewal applications can be found on the website for the Missouri Dental Board (http://pr.mo.gov/dental.asp). License renewal costs $200 and payment and renewal documentation is required before the December 31st expiration date.Continuing Education Requirements
At least 30 hours of continuing education are required for licensed dental hygienists in Missouri every two years. Continuing education opportunities are available at a number of educational institutions across the state, in addition to those offered by the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association, the Missouri Dental Assistants Association, and the Missouri Dental Association.Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Hygienists in Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and Independence, Missouri may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the St. Johns Mercy Medical Center, St. Anthony’s Medical Center, Barnes Jewish Hospital and Missouri Baptist Medical Center.
