In Ohio, a degree in dental hygiene is necessary in order to practice in this profession. Most programs last two to three years. There are several dental hygienist schools in Ohio. Ensure the school you choose has been accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA).
Ohio Dental Hygienist Continuing Education Requirements/Licensure Renewal
To renew a dental hygienist license, a dental hygienist must complete 12 continuing education hours. Continuing education providers must have been approved by the board and those will be either a permanent sponsor such as the American Dental Association, the National Dental Association, accredited colleges and more.
