To become a dental hygienist in Tennessee you must earn a minimum of an associate’s degree which will take between two and three years to complete. The state of Tennessee issues two-year licenses to dental hygienists. Dental hygienists in Tennessee are required to fulfill 30 hours of continuing education during each renewal cycle.
