West Virginia Dental Hygienist Continuing Educational Requirements

The following is a description of continuing education requirements for the state of West Virginia. Every two-year period, one must complete 20 hours of continuing education (CE) credit to maintain the Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) credential. The license renewal fee is currently $65. Specifically, one must have at least 2 hours from oral effects substance abuse, tobacco use, or infection control. If you are an RDH with a general supervision permit, you must obtain 3 of the 20 hours in medical emergency. In addition, if you are an RDH with a public health permit, 6 additional hours of CE credit is required. Three of these hours must cover medical emergencies, and 3 hours of general public health content.
