The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) has approved programs in dental hygiene. Most programs will result in an associate’s degree but other options are a certificate or as high as a bachelor’s degree. One can even go so far as to earn a master’s degree if one wants to progress to a higher level in their field. There are several dental hygienist schools in Wyoming. One university in Wyoming offers a program in dental hygiene and a student earns not only an associate’s degree but also a bachelor’s degree. Prerequisites are required but the dental hygiene courses include clinical dental hygiene courses, Oral Pathology, clinical seminars, Oral Histology and Embryology, Community Dental Health, Office Practice, an education practicum, anesthesia education, and Periodontology.
