Find the right school for you
Dental schools in Nevada award either the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree or the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. It may sound as if these are different degrees, but they are actually the same, and are both acceptable when applying for dental licensure in Nevada.
Before you can be admitted to a dental school in Nevada, you must complete the Dental Admissions Test (DAT). This exam is comprehensive and quite challenging. It is meant to test the competency and capabilities of students before they are permitted entrance to a dental school in Nevada. While you are only required to have two years of college level education in order to take this test, most students in Nevada prefer to have four years of formal education and a bachelor’s degree behind them before even attempting to take the DAT.
Once you have been accepted to a dental school in Nevada, some of the classes you may be taking include:
- Dental Materials and Equipment
- Dental Anatomy and Pathology
- CPR and First Aid
