Exercise science is the branch of health science that deals with movement and the human body’s adaptive and functional responses to movement. It is a diverse field preparing students for careers like fitness coach, physical therapist, personal trainer, kinesiotherapist, recreational therapist, fitness director, biomachinist, therapeutic recreational specialist, and many others. The degrees required for pursuing these careers range from associate’s to doctoral degrees. This field, although closely related to that of sports medicine, is not as narrow.
