Dietician Salary in Florida - FL

Dietician Salaries in Florida

According to Kaiser Family’s statehealthfacts.org, 33.1% of Florida’s children ages 10 to 17 are obese or overweight, compared with the national average statistic of 31.6%. The growing numbers of overweight young people in Florida points to a need for more dietitians in the state. Clearly, there is a need for well-qualified, educated dietitians throughout the state of Florida, as there is in many areas of the United States.

The average registered dietitian’s salary in Florida, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, is $53,950. This figure is close to the national average salary for dietitians, which is $53,230. When one considers that at least a bachelor degree, plus a supervised internship and the passing of an examination, is necessary in order to be able to work as a dietitian in Florida, the generous annual pay offered to its dietitians is not surprising.  As with any profession, salaries for dietitians tend to vary depending upon one’s amount of education, years of experience, and area of the state in which one works. For example, a recent search on indeed.com found the following average salaries for registered dietitians in these cities in Florida:

  • Tampa:  $54,000
