To become a radiology tech in Georgia, enroll in a program. There are a variety of Georgia radiology technician schools as well as online options available. Make sure the program you are interested in is approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and, if the CHEA considers it a National Institutional and Specialized Accrediting Body, must include radiologic technology or allied health in its scope. However, this program can also be accredited by several radiology technology-specific agencies, which are the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology(JRCERT), Joint Review Committee on Education in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT), Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in cooperation with Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS),or the Regional Institutional Accrediting Agencies.
Through campus or online programs, aspiring Radiology Technicians in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus and Savannah, Georgia may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Anchor Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, St Joseph's Hospital and Columbus Regional Hospital.
