Dental Hygienist School in Hawaii – HI

For those who know early enough in life that they want to pursue a dental career, they can begin with high school classes. A combination of the following courses is recommended and will prove helpful to dental hygienists or dental assistants:
- English
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Math
- Speech
- Nutrition
In addition to the above education, dental assistants and dental hygienists must also keep current CPR certification.
Hawaii Dental Hygienist Continuing Education Requirements
Dental hygienists in the state of Hawaii are issued a two-year license. It must be renewed biennially by December 31 of odd years. All Hawaii dental hygienists must also complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years by the renewal date. No more than half of the hours can be correspondence and those courses must be approved by sponsors. All courses should be relevant to the care and treatment of patients in the dental environment.Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Hygienists in Honolulu, Kialua and Hilo, Hawaii may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including Kuakini Medical Center, The Queen's Medical Center, and Hilo Medical Center.
