According to the HSBN, there are a number different LPN baccalaureate degree programs available in Hawaii. These programs are offered through both online and campus based Hawaii LPN schools.

In terms of expected coursework, most programs will either begin instruction, or require pre-requisite classes that build a framework for LPN education. These foundation classes will likely include: English, math, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology. As a program continues, students can anticipant curriculum that is more narrowly focused on specific aspects of practical nursing. Students researching individual program coursework will find the following classes: Practical Nursing (I,II), Basic Science for Health Occupation, Human Development, Child Health Nursing, Adult Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Personal Vocational Relations, General Pharmacology, Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing, and Nursing Issues and Trends. Lastly, LPNs are expected to get familiar with the legal and ethical implications of practicing that is specific to Hawaii.
