Writer Thomas Lindsley Bradford, M. D. claims that in 1904 there were 116 homeopathic practitioners in Colorado, yet 30 years ago, there were only ten. Today, there is a resurgence in the interest in homeopathic medicine and, therefore, homeopathic education in Colorado. A homeopathic degree or certificate is usually awarded after two to four years of study. Colorado offers a variety of alternatives for homeopathy courses, at colleges, universities, and through distance learning online.
The average homeopathy class, like most college courses, requires students to combine textbook with didactic learning. Programs vary from site to site, but many of the same or similar homeopathy courses can be found in homeopathic education programs across Colorado. Some of these include Foundations of Homeopathy, Organon of the Medical Art, Case Taking and Case Analysis, Acute and Constitutional Treatment, The Study of Materia Medica, Clinical Training, and Practice Management. Skills and knowledge taught in these homeopathy programs include researching inherited tendencies, evaluating a client's personal history and circumstances affecting their health, and studying homeopathic remedies taken from plants, minerals and animals. Positions for qualified homeopaths with a degree or certificate can be found across Colorado. Currently, indeed.com lists positions at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy in Boulder for homeopathic practitioners; while other sites list positions for homeopathic therapists in Littleton.
