Applicants of Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Texas will have the following requirements

  • Be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Apply for a temporary certificate through the Texas Department of State Health Services. This temporary certificate then allows you to apply for the state approved exam. You will need to submit all required information. Among the requirements is a list of supporting documentation you will need to submit.
  • Apply for the exam to receive your general certificate. The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) examination or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) are the two approved exam administrators.
  • Pass the test and receive notification from the or the NMTCB of your exam results.
  • Receive your general certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Note: You may apply for the temporary certificate as early as 28 days from the day you will graduate from your program.
