There are a few dental assistant schools in Idaho. Most of these include certificate programs that last 9-12 months and provide a thorough training on how to pursue this career. Dental assistants are not required by the state of Idaho to complete any continuing education. Dental assistants who choose to become certified to perform expanded functions must keep their certification current and meet the requirements to do so. Many dentists also encourage completing some additional dental coursework and will even offer financial reimbursement or incentives for doing so.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Boise, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Meridian, Idaho may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke's Boise Medical Center.
