The Idaho Board of Dentistry issues a two year license to dental hygienist. Licensed dental hygienists must renew their application every two years with the board, in addition to completing 24 hours of continuing education. One hour of credit may be reported for every two hours of volunteer practice, up to a maximum of ten credit hours. CPR certification must also be kept current and the board will request your CPR certification expiration date on your license renewal application.Dental hygienists may choose to pursue endorsement as a dental hygienist with extended access. Endorsed dental hygienists must complete an additional 12 hours of continuing education every two years.
