After graduating from an accredited Idaho medical assistant school, you may decide to go for certification by a nationally recognized professional organization. Employers prefer to hire certified workers and generally offer them greater opportunities for career advancement. If you have graduated from an accredited program, you are eligible to take the exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (aama-ntl.org). Passing the exam allows you to use the Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) credential. An alternative route to certification is becoming a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (amt1.com). If you pass the exam, you can use the Registered Medical Assistant (AMT) credential.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Medical Assistants in Boise, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Meridian, Idaho may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke's Boise Medical Center.
