How to become a dental assistant in Illinois

While you can seek certification from by taking the Dental Assisting National Boards (DANB) to become a certified dental assistant (CDA), this is not a requirement in Illinois. Ultimately, networking to find an office you like and preparing a great resume is the best way to find a dental assistant job. However, by earning a dental assistant certification, you certainly make yourself more marketable. Typically these certifications are offered through community colleges and take nine to twelve months to graduate. Make sure the program you are seeking is approved by the American Dental Association (ADA).
