Illinois Ultrasound Technician Schools - IL

Several Illinois ultrasound technician schools; however, graduating from an accredited school will immediately enable you to apply for the examinations that ultimately award you with the registered diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS) credential. These examinations are administered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS). This credential is a nationally recognized voluntary certification that could enhance employment opportunities. It also demonstrates commitment, knowledge, and excellence of the individual. Currently there are seven Illinois ultrasound technician schools that are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in the state of Illinois. The breakdown is as follows: 5 programs offer a certificate, 3 programs offer an associate's degree, 1 program offers a diploma, and 2 programs offers a baccalaureate degree. Most ultrasound tech schools in Illinois include an on-campus lecture component and an off-campus integrated clinical component. The externship consists of supervised experiences in the clinical environment.
