Typical cardiac sonographer jobs in Indiana are similar, as cardiac sonographers perform a very specific and specialized role.  Still, there is quite a bit of room for career variety in Indiana.

Most cardiac sonographers seek out employment in medical facilities and hospitals like the Deaconess Hospital, or the Community Hospital East. Here, they function as part of a team of vascular diagnosis specialists, who compile the information, generate the images, and run the tests that doctors then use to diagnose patients and create treatment plans.

Many work alongside doctors and cardiologists in private practices around Indiana where they become an invaluable member of a small but well-oiled machine. If the practice is successful, they also stand to make a fairly generous salary.

It is also becoming increasingly commonplace for cardiac sonographers in Indiana to work for temporary medical staffing companies, who contract out staff and equipment to care centers and facilities that require them. If these can get consistent work, these cardiac sonographers can generate impressive salaries, as they make more per-hour then their less mobile counterparts.

No matter which path looks most attractive to you, pursuing a career in cardiac sonography in Indiana means entering one of the most respected and well-paid allied health careers.
