Education in Indiana LPN Schools

There are literally dozens of different LPN programs to choose from in Indiana. These programs are accredited and meet the guidelines set forth by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. LPN programs can be provided by a variety of educational providers including, junior and community colleges, and state colleges and universities. LPN programs will award students a certificate of completion, a diploma, or an associate, baccalaureate, master, or practical degree upon successful completion.

All programs offered by Indiana LPN schools must comprise of both classroom instruction and supervised clinical practical experience in a health care setting. Although LPN curriculum will slightly vary between programs, students researching LPN programs in Indiana will find that most programs offer the following courses: Concepts of Nursing, Maternity-Clinical Health Nursing, Basic Nursing Procedures, Pharmacology, Geriatric Nursing, Microbiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Human Development, Introduction to Psychology, Chronic Health Problems, Leadership and Management of Patient Care, and Psychosocial and Rehabilitation in Nursing.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Licensed Practical Nurses in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Evansville, Indiana may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Deaconess Hospital, Community Hospital East, and Parkview Hospital.
