In 2007, Indiana became the 38th state to regulate the Massage Therapy profession, thus creating the Indiana State Massage Therapy Board ISMTB, and ensuring minimum educational standards for massage therapy schools in Indiana as well as standards of practice and ethics for certification in the state.   As of July 2009, the state adheres to educational and practical requirements for certification.  However, professional massage therapists certified prior to this date may be exempt from meeting the educational requirements under the state’s Grandfathering provision.

There are a variety of specialties and services currently taught online or through Indiana massage school, including heat, sound, and aromatherapy; targeted services according to gender and/or age; and couples or spa party services.  Existing massage therapists in Indiana offer a range of techniques from Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports/Athletic, Pregnancy Massage, Reflexology, and Hot Stones, among others.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Massage Therapists in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Evansville, Indiana may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Deaconess Hospital, Community Hospital East, and Parkview Hospital.

We currently have no schools offerings in IN for this career path at this time. (Check back with us)
