The educational requirement for those interested in practicing as a physical therapy assistant is an associate degree from any of the two hundred and twenty three accredited programs in the US. Seven institutions in Indiana offer such programs. The majority of the programs are two year programs which cover such subjects as kinesiology, modality, neurology and pathology. Along with these studies, clinical and practical experience will be part of the educational process. These studies will provide the understanding of the human body and the sciences at work to capably assist in the physical therapy process.
