Schooling required for a dental assistant is whatever your potential employer deems necessary. However, to perform radiography or coronal polishing, you need to attend a special class. There are several Kentucky dental assistant schools. Just make sure the school you choose to attend has been accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) so that it covers all necessary topic areas.

Kentucky Dental Assistant Continuing Education Requirements

There are no requirements for continuing education for dental assistants in Kentucky. However, if you are performing additional duties such as coronal polishing, pumicing or radiography, additional education is required.
