Kentucky Massage Therapy Schools - KY
Since 2003 the State of Kentucky has regulated the practice of massage therapy and has required licensing for all practicing graduates of Kentucky massage therapy schools.
With the passing of these new laws and regulations came the creation of a Kentucky State Board of Massage Therapy and Bodywork that has oversight over the training provided by Kentucky massage therapy schools. To be completely certified and recognized in Kentucky you will work with National and State organizations to fulfill the requirements to work in this profession in the State of Kentucky.
Continuing Education Requirements for Kentucky Massage Therapists
The state of Kentucky requires that all Massage Therapists renew their license before March 31st in every year that ends in an odd number. The continuing education that you do participate in during this two year period is approved by the State Board and can cover a wide range of topics from good business practice, ethics, science related issues, to new techniques related to massage. The State does stipulate that three hours need to be related to ethics. As well, up to a maximum of twelve hours is able to be carried over from one renewal period to the next.
