The Kentucky Department for Employment Services acknowledges nine different education and training programs for surgical technologists throughout Kentucky. These on-site programs are all provided by local technical and community colleges or private colleges and are usually between one and two years in length. Students that successfully graduate from one of these programs can earn an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology, a Diploma in Surgical Technology, a Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology and a Post-secondary Award in Surgical Technology.
