Medical assistants in Louisiana are not licensed and are not required to meet continuing education/licensure requirements. After completing formal training from a Louisiana medical assistant school, you will want to keep up with the latest information in healthcare and what’s current in the medical assistant field; this will only enhance an individual’s career and the medical assistant profession as a whole. Although there is currently no local AAMA chapter in Louisiana, those interested in starting a state society are invited to contact the AAMA Membership Department at the Executive Office.
