The Louisiana healthcare informatics salary is roughly $65,000 annually. The nursing informatics profession is relatively new in that the technology of today really didn’t exist 20 years ago. So, while this is a new career, it is not one that you should have a fear of vanishing. In fact, with the changes in technology and the continued need for nursing, the nursing informatics profession is a great choice to make.

As a beginner in this career, you will most likely not earn top dollar, but you can expect your experience to pay off over time. A recent survey conducted reported that 59% of nursing informaticist veterans with more than 10 years of experience earned more than $74,000 per year. Basically, you can see where you years of service in nursing informatics will pay off. Keep this in mind when considering the outlook of your profession.

These are the salaries for the major cities in Louisiana. Keep in mind that these figures are merely averages, so they do include what the beginning professional could expect to earn each year.

  • New Orleans: $64,000
  • Baton Rouge: $65,000
  • Lafayette: $56,000
  • Shreveport: $55,000
  • Alexandria: $60,000
  • Lake Charles: $64,000
  • Natchitoches: $58,000
