Public Health Programs in Maine

Public health programs are prevalent throughout the state of Maine for those interested in a career in this field.  The objective of public health professionals is to educate the community about health hazards, health care access, and infections disease control and prevention, among others.

The Maine Center for Public Health (MCPH) is one of over a dozen public health associations that have been instituted at a state-level across the United States.  The goal of MCPH is for the state of Maine to become the healthiest state in the country, and is an excellent resource for public health programs in Maine.  The MCPH website (www.mcph.org) provides links to several public health programs that are available in the state of Maine, including the American Lung Association, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Maine Cancer Consortium.

Opportunities for Maine public health careers and consulting opportunities can also be found on the MCPH website.  There is also a link to public health career descriptions and a background on the history of the public health system.  All of this information can be a valuable tool for individuals searching for public health programs in the state of Maine.
