The first step to obtaining your certification in this field is to attend a medical technologist school in Maryland. You will have several to choose from, and you should make this choice based on reputation, experience, and curriculum, as this will be the entire foundation for your career.
In Maryland, medical technologist certification requires both education and training. In order to be certifiable, you must hold at least a bachelor degree in health sciences or clinical laboratory sciences. The bachelor degree is a 4-year option and one that will provide you with a profound foundation of knowledge on which you can build as you continue on with your career in medical technology.
