Continuing education and Credential Renewal for Massage Therapists in Arizona
Massage Therapy training in Arizona requires 25 hours of continuing education every two years for the renewal of the state license. Of the 25 hours, 12 can be earned via distance or correspondence education. All hours must be earned from an approved provider. Credential holders are expected to maintain personal records for continuing education events attended. The following information regarding the CE events is required to be submitted with the renewal application:
- Credential holder name
- Job title
- Subject matter of event
- Date of occurrence
- Hours attended
- Physical location of event
- Instructor
- Approved agency sponsoring event
If a license is allowed to expire, it may be re-instated after the payment of the renewal fee and a delinquency fee, proof of CE attended and a competency assessment by the Board. If a license is lapsed for more than three years, the fees would need to be paid along with CE documentation. The Board may also require proof of competency or require the candidate to do an internship of their design.
