American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA):  This is a professional organization that represents practicing massage therapists and those still involved in massage therapy training in Georgia.  Being a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) indicates professionalism and accountability among the massage therapy community.  ATMA upholds certain standards for its members, such as education, experience, and proper certification.

Georgia has a state chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) that represents practicing massage therapists and those in massage therapy training in Georgia.  This is a member-based organization and currently has approximately 1,100 members.  Georgia in one of only three states that offers an exciting marketing tool for AMTA members.  There is a new program called Wellness Proshop.  It is a personal online store that has the ability to expand your business.  One great benefit is that you are pre-approved for a credit card merchant account.  This allows you to accept a credit card payment on location by using your cell phone.  In addition, you have the benefit of your own online store.  This online store may be used to accept appointments, provide a virtual retail store without the inconvenience of inventory, offer gift certificates.
