Graduate from high school and receive a High School Diploma. Most schools offering Massage Therapy training in Missouri require one.

While a college degree is not necessary to become a Massage Therapist, within the state of Missouri, the Board of Therapeutic Massage requires Massage Therapists to have 500 hours of massage therapy training in Missouri from a program at a board-approved school. It is also suggested that those interested in Massage Therapy education enroll at a school that is accredited by a nationally-recognized accreditation program, such as the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) This organization, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, accredits both educational institutions and programs offering instruction in massage therapy.
