Continuing Education (CE) Requirements in Oregon

To maintain your license over time, state law requires you to take at least 12 hours of continuing education classes that have been approved by the Board in each two-year renewal period.  These classes are most often available through institutions offering massage therapy training in Oregon.  If a CE opportunity is not pre-approved by the Board, you can request the Board consider approving it, but you take a risk if you attend an unapproved CE credit in that it may ultimately not be accepted.

Your continuing education hours are divided up between contact hours, which include attendance in classes or workshops, serving as a member of the licensing Board or a professional organization or one of its committees, or serving as a license examiner for the state. The non-contact hours you earn may include work done in research for a published massage therapy scholarly article or book, volunteer massage therapy work, self-study courses, teaching massage therapy to someone else or taking online courses.
