According to a press release on the American Massage Therapy Associations website, Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell signed a House Bill on October 9, 2008 enabling the lawmakers of the state to regulate the profession of massage therapy along with overseeing schools that offer massage therapy training in Pennsylvania. Continuing education and License Renewal for Massage Therapists in Pennsylvania

As a practicing massage therapist it is important for you to continue your education in the art and science of massage and bodywork so that you can help your clients achieve better results and possibly open your practice to serve other individuals. As a certified massage therapist by the NCBTMB you are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years in conjunction with your licensing period. You will need to submit a license renewal fee every two years as well.

National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) is the national organization for massage therapists upholding the standards of excellence within the profession and is the nationally recognized licensing board. Many states recognize the NCBTMB exam solely for consideration of licensing to applicants. Pennsylvania is one of these states.
